    Buzzfeed News wasn’t doing too well for some time and considering the current landscape this decision was just a matter of time. Buzzfeed needs to focus more on custom content and increase their value. Maybe news was just not their strong suit?

      Yes, news was probably not for them. Except for a few good articles that seemed they were really worked on, the rest was not that good. Probably one of the reasons why this failed. It’s a tough market with a lot of other good sources fighting for this space. Buzzfeed needs to work with what works for them and double down on that and eliminate other distractions.

    Buzzfeed should have made different decisions a few years back when they were valued at $1.5bn. I agree that the current economic climate is affecting the whole media industry but some have taken steps to alleviate the risks and are doing better than the average. These time periods are unavoidable and it’s now when winners come to the top.
